Supreet Kaur is a Post Graduate in Economics with Honors in Psychology at Graduation Level, currently residing in Doraha, Distt. Ludhiana since 2002. Belonging to a family of educationists and having experience of teaching and education administration of around 18 years, she is a strong believer of Sikh principles and constantly strives to become a good Sikh. She loves Gurbani and Kirtan. She is inspired and motivated to serve people and society at large. She is at present working with Doraha Group of Institutes. The group is running three Institutes – One CBSE School up to senior secondary level & 2 colleges. The group aims to provide quality education, persistently strives to uplift the standard of rural education justifying its motto “Baleo Chirag Andhiaar Mein”.

JASPREET SINGH

General Secretary (India)

Jaspreet Singh holds a masters degree in Computers Science (Information Technology) from Lyallpur Khalsa College under G.N.D.U., Amritsar. He has done his Bachelor of Computer Application from Arya College under Panjabi University, Chandigarh. After a short stint as Lecturer at GGNIVS Ludhiana, joined Skynet Innovations Pvt. Ltd., a software company developing ERP Solutions as a System Programmer. Jaspreet currently runs his family business of Waste Oil Recycling and implemented eco friendly technologies in the plant turning waste to wealth. In 2007, he successfully completed the Training Programme on Management of Hazardous  Chemicals and Industrial (Chemical) Accidents/Disasters organised by FICCI under the Ministry of Environment & Forests, Government of India.

He co-founded Vigaas Foundation, an NGO working towards spreading various noble messages like drug addiction, family and parenting through print and electronic channels, hold annual interactive sessions on ‘Happy Family Life’ (HFL).  Vigaas has produced award winning movies like Empty Inside and Five Folds in the past. And most recently focussing the environmental issues, Vigaas produced a short film named A Little Gardener to promote environmentalism in the society.

Jaspreet is a continuous learner, he also bags an online course, Learning How to Learn by Barb Oakley, Terry Sejnowski, Becca Judd authorized by University of California, San Diego, he is now pursuing course on Climate Change and human health under United Nations Climate Change learning program.

He is a proud grandson of Sangeet Ratna gurmat sangeet legend, Prof Kartar Singh Ji. Jaspreet is a strong believer in Sikh Principles and fond of listening to traditional form of gurmat sangeet.

Jaspreet is responsible for connecting Vigaas and EcoSikh through his active participation in various EcoSikh drives and his passion to contribute towards the betterment of the Environment.

IBADAT SINGH Ibadat Singh

Executive Member (India)

Ibadat Singh is working with Datawind Innovations as Director, managing their operations in India. Following the launch of Aakash Tablet – World’s cheapest tablet. He has been involved in the product roll-out, press interaction, market positioning and channel strategy for the products. He has Participated in various trade shows across the globe gave him exposure to business models deployed by wireless operators in Europe, and thus he initiated an innovative revenue sharing relationship with the Indian network operator for DataWind. He has also worked with various sector leaders towards digital educational reform and bridging the digital divide through affordable tablets platform by imparting online education. Under the initiative of Indian Government” Make In India” he has started a manufacturing unit for Datawind in Amritsar followed by second plant in Hyderabad. He feels humbled to be part of EcoSikh where he can propagate the measures to safeguard the environment through various campaigns and create awareness among the masses on conservation of this precious planet.

Rupinder SinghRUPINDER SINGH

Executive Member (India)

Rupinder Singh is the Executive Vice President & Head of Indian Operations, at IT Company, DataWind Ltd. He has served as a Lead Director at Ken Institute of Professional Studies Pvt. Ltd., a Human Talent Solutions concern, facilitating training and recruitment solutions to companies and campuses. He also owned an entrepreneurial project, which facilitated human capital re-sourcing and trainings. He has worked with various national banks of India and has an experience of 10 years in the banking sector. He has worked as National Product Manager  at ICICI Bank Limited, Area Head and Senior branch head at Development Credit Bank Limited and IDBI Bank Limited respectively, and junior Executive at Times Bank Limited, and Bank of Punjab Limited.

Jaskaran SinghJASKARAN SINGH

Jaskaran Singh is pursuing M.Tech in Industrial Engineering from Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College, Ludhiana. He is socially active and always ready to work for the cause. He holds an enormous network from various societies such as Guru Gobind Singh Study Circle, Sukrit Trust, Nishkam Sikh Welfare Counsil, Young Flares. He organized various blood donation camps in different zones of Ludhiana with the help of Bhai Ghanayia ji Welfare Society.

Mohan Singh is Director at Hind hydraulics & Engineers, prop. of Hind Fluid Power Pvt. Ltd. He is currently based in Faridabad, Haryana. He is very ambitious and wants to bring change in the current scenario of lifestyle.

ANJU CHHABRA

Executive Member (India)

Anju Chhabra is a Postgraduate in English from the Punjab University and has obtained her bachelor degree in science from Shahu Ji Maharaj University, Kanpur. She served as a science teacher for around four years and currently helping in her family business of sleeping mattress (distribution of industrial products in Punjab). She believes that the resources are universal and must be used ethically considering the future of generations to come. She is a nature lover, a keen learner and beliver of Sikh principles. She is implementing various organic gardening and composting techniques at home based kitchen garden.

In the past three years, she has organized various workshops and events with ecosikh. She is socially active and has a keen interest in promoting family health, traditional foods, kitchen gardening and farming practics especially amongst the women.

Ravneet Pal Singh

Executive Member (India)

Ravneet Singh is currently the South-Asia Project Manager at EcoSikh (www.ecosikh.org). He has been spreading environmental awareness in Punjab from last eight years creating faith-based environmental activism in the Sikh community.

EcoSikh initiated in 2009, as a Sikh response to the United Nations call for faith action to combat the global environmental crisis and inculcate environment stewardship in the Sikh religion. EcoSikh collaborates with thousands of Sikh Gurdwaras and institutions all over India, Malaysia, Pakistan, USA, UK, Australia, France, Hong Kong, Norway, and many other countries.

At EcoSikh, Ravneet played a major role in establishing March 14 to be celebrated as World Sikh Environment Day. Today, over 5000 Sikh organizations in 15 nations across six continents, celebrate this day. It laid a foundation of environmental awareness and action in hundreds of Sikh Gurdwaras and educational institutions.

He is an inspiring storyteller coming from Sikh faith. He represented Sikh in 2011 at Italy and in 2013 at Norway, at United Nations NY and the NY climate march in 2014, United Nations Bristol meeting in 2015. He was also invited at by GreenFaith at the convergence of young environmentalists in Rome to take part in the climate march and for environmental training by global environment leaders.

Ravneet has organized the first-ever interfaith programme on climate change in Amritsar for the success of Paris Climate Summit COP21 in December 2015. He has participated in various interfaith discussions in India and abroad.

Since 2016, he has been organizing youth environment leadership training in Punjab promoting plantation drives, and advocating the reduction of styrofoam and reduction of water wastage in Gurdwaras. He has led the Green Nagar Kirtans in seven Indian states. Currently, in 2018, he is leading the project, Guru Nanak Bagh in Punjab, the first ever Gurbani based garden to exhibit all the trees, shrubs and plants referred in Guru Granth Sahib in 5-acre land at Patto Hira Singh, Moga.
