RAVNEET PAL SINGH

Ravneet Pal Singh graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Engineering from Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana, India. He worked as a Project Manager for an irrigation firm for a number of years where he promoted water conservation through sound irrigation designs, construction observations and water management practices. Ravneet grew up in Punjab but also spent several years in UK which gave him an understanding of environmental issues facing the Sikh community in Punjab and the Diaspora. Ravneet is a committed and practicing Sikh, and his concern for environment is based on the view that awareness is nothing without action.

TARUNDEEP SINGH

Tarundeep is an experienced university lecturer and business consultant with a strong focus on organizational management and a deep interest in Sikhi. He has a Bachelor’s in Business Administration and a Bachelors of Science in Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering. Additionally, he holds a Master of Business Administration with Honors in Marketing and Retail Management with supplementary training and certifications in his fields of interest in the sciences.

BANDANA KAUR

Bandana Kaur has a Master’s in Environmental Science from Yale University’s School of Forestry and Environmental Studies, and a Bachelor’s in English and Human Rights from Barnard College, Columbia University. While at Yale, Bandana received a Tropical Resources Institute Fellowship and a Jubitz Family Foundation Fellowship to research women and agricultural biodiversity in Post-Green Revolution in rural Punjab, India. Bandana has also worked on climate change, clean water, and forest conservation issues with organizations in the United States and in South Asia including the Environmental and Energy Study Institute, Women Action for Ecology, and Amnesty International. In her spare time, Bandana enjoys spending time with her family and friends, being outside, and writing. She strongly believes in the power of normal, everyday people in impacting social change.

SUMEET KAUR

Program Manager (North America)

Sumeet is recent graduate of the George Washington University with a bachelor’s degree in International Relations. She is a strong advocate of human rights, especially in the field of environmental development. Her academic and personal life has been heavily focused on environmental preservation and community outreach, especially within the Sikh community.

As president of the George Washington Sikh Student Association, Sumeet promoted Sikhism awareness at GW University and in the D.C. area by hosting lectures and performing sewa at local gurdwaras. As Program Manager for EcoSikh, she hopes to bring her community outreach and organizing skills to engage the sangat and enrich their connection to Sikhi and the environment.
