Ravneet Pal Singh graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Engineering from Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana, India. He worked as a Project Manager for an irrigation firm for a number of years where he promoted water conservation through sound irrigation designs, construction observations and water management practices. Ravneet grew up in Punjab but also spent several years in UK which gave him an understanding of environmental issues facing the Sikh community in Punjab and the Diaspora. Ravneet is a committed and practicing Sikh, and his concern for environment is based on the view that awareness is nothing without action.

Bandana KaurBandana Kaur

Program Ambassador, Special Initiatives (Diaspora)


Bandana Kaur has a Master’s in Environmental Science from Yale University’s School of Forestry and Environmental Studies, and a Bachelor’s in English and Human Rights from Barnard College, Columbia University. While at Yale, Bandana received a Tropical Resources Institute Fellowship and a Jubitz Family Foundation Fellowship to research women and agricultural biodiversity in Post-Green Revolution in rural Punjab, India. Bandana has also worked on climate change, clean water, and forest conservation issues with organizations in the United States and in South Asia including the Environmental and Energy Study Institute, Women Action for Ecology, and Amnesty International. In her spare time, Bandana enjoys spending time with her family and friends, being outside, and writing. She strongly believes in the power of normal, everyday people in impacting social change.


Gursahib Singh

Youth Outreach Manager

Special Initiatives, Punjab

Gursahib Singh coordinates EcoSikh’s special initiative of greening of Sikh religious processions (called Nagar Kirtans) in Punjab. He is charge of creating general awareness about pollution control, sanitation and garbage control/recycling in the mass level religious celebrations. He communicates and engages youth in Punjab to participate in assisting religious celebrations from the environmental angle.  He creates partnerships with other socially active groups and organizations to participate in environmental programs of EcoSikh.  Recently he was in charge of managing a procession of 87 KM which required mobilization of many youth and volunteers from several villages to handle and recycle garbage during the celebrations.

Gursahib is a graduate in humanities and currently pursuing Masters in Business Administration from Lovely Professional University and he also helps his father in manufacturing automobiles parts. He has been very active in organising blood donation camps in the past and has presented his school at National level in Volley Ball in 2007-08. Occasionally he trains the high schoolers for Volley ball in Ludhiana during summer camps
