Plantation Drive by EcoAmritsar at Palm Grove Colony Amritsar

Amritsar, 11th August 2016: The Plantation Program of EcoAmritsar is in full swing, and resident colonies participating in the project are now opting for enhancing their lifestyles with extended Eco Friendly living programs. A site meeting of the Municipal Commissioner, Sonali Giri IAS, with the residents of Paradise Greens & Palm Grove colonies, was organised by EcoAmritsar on 11th August 2016. During the meeting the residents opted for their own garbage management program as suggested by Ms. Giri. Under this Solid Liquid Waste Management Program (SLP), the State will provide dust bins to the colony for waste segregation. A team of rag-pickers will collect the solid waste (glass, plastic, metal) for recycling, while the organic waste will be composted thereby creating an eternal supply of manure for the colony and its open spaces. Ms. Giri expressed her satisfaction at the ongoing plantation programs being undertaken in the colonies by EcoAmritsar & its stakeholders.
